Shift: 7pm - 3:30am

Whatyou will do:

The Cylinder Loader will beresponsible for loading and unloading of high-pressure and liquid cylinders on/offtrucks in compliance with federal, state, local regulations. The Loader willalso be responsible for meeting all safety standards in the loading andunloading of cylinder gases per Airgas procedures.

Yourresponsibilities:

* Inspectscylinders prior to filling, following standard procedures as required bygovernment, Airgas, and distributor standards.

* Understandshazards of various gases; size and contents of cylinders by reading andinterpreting cylinder labels and the color-coding of tanks.

* Complies withall government and company standards relating to the safe handling of hazardousmaterials/cylinder gases.

* Safely operatesa forklift, pallet jack and other warehouse/material-handling equipment.

* Loads cylinderson/off vehicles, using hand truck or chain hoist, and records type and quantityof cylinders.

* Loads/unloads cylinderson/off pallets; ensuring they are strapped in.

* Examinesreturned cylinders for surface defects, dents, cracks, burns and performs minormaintenance of equipment and inspection of cylinders prior to filling.

* Rolls cylindersto designated work area using appropriate, safe work method or equipment

* Segregates outtest cylinders and any defective cylinders.

* Removes oldlabels, cleans cylinders.

Whatyou will have:

* HS Diploma orequivalent preferred.

* 1 years'experience in manufacturing operation, filling or loading experience preferred.

* Strongbackground in gas, welding and safety supply industry or chemical industrypreferred.

* Strong verbaland written communication skills.

* Excellent interpersonalskills with the ability to work with a wide variety of people with different personalitiesand backgrounds.

* Ability to readand interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenanceinstructions, and procedure manuals.

* Detail-oriented.

* Ability tosafely operate a fork-lift.

* Ability to add,subtracts, multiply, and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers,common fractions, and decimals.

* Employee may berequired to remain stationary for extended periods of time.

* Employee mayfrequently be required to transverse through various Airgas and customerlocations.

* Employee willfrequently be required to actively listen and exchange information interactingwith customers and fellow Airgas associates.

* Requiresoccasional use of computer and telephone.

* Employee may berequired to observe and assess information received via computer.

* Repetitivemotions necessary to provide delivery of products.

* Regularlyrequired to transport and move 60 pounds; required to push and pull liquidcontainers weighing up to 800 pounds with the aid of material handlingequipment.

* Must be able tooperate a forklift.

* Must be able tooperate in a drug-free workplace.

* Must be able towork in inclement weather conditions.

* Flexible towork overtime as needed.

* Lives by Airgassafety programs, OSHA, and all related rules, regulations, procedures which areapplicable to this position's responsibilities.
