POSITION SUMMARY
Assists physician in performance of all cardiac procedures, demonstrating competency in all positions (scrub, monitor, and float). Analyzes and interprets collected procedural data, provides effective patient care to ages adult through geriatric, and all acuity levels. Assists in precepting new employees and students, and with design and implementation of department's organization and function. Cross-trains and maintains competency in Electrophysiology Lab and/or Cath Holding Area and assigned to assist as needed. Participates in setting and maintenance of department standards and helps develop quality assurance and improvement programs of the department. Participation in call coverage required. Acting charge tech in absence of appointed charge tech.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
1. High school graduate or equivalent; prefer minimum one year college level courses in Life Sciences.
2. Require status of Cardiovascular Technology Invasive Registry (RCIS- Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialty Registry) as currently administered by Cardiovascular Credentialing, Inc. (CCI)
3. Preferred graduate of recognized cardiovascular technology program, with OJT RCIS accepted. BCLS required.
4. ACLS and IABP certification required within six months of hire date.
5. Effective ECG and Hemodynamic recognition and interpretation required.
6. Minimum 2 years diagnostic cath lab experience; prefer at least one year of interventional experience.
