Our Maintenance workforce supports the tire manufacturing process daily through ensuring we have reliable, safe equipment to run our products. Due to the recent decline of qualified tradesman Goodyear Tire and Rubber has developed the Maintenance Entry Program. The Maintenance Entry Program is a program designed to assist Goodyear in developing their internal pipeline to fill our critical skilled craftsman positions.

The program is a mentoring program that assists Entry Level crafts by allowing them to enter the workforce and be mentored and trained by other skilled tradesman. The program is a mix of classroom and on the job training and assists entry level associates in gaining the 4 years of industrial maintenance experience needed to become a skilled trade within our facility.

The program requires that applicants be current students that have completed a minimum of 1 year industrial maintenance schooling at a technical college

Candidates must have a GPA of 2.5 and transcripts must be submitted to Tracy Grey , 1901 Goodyear Boulevard, Danville , VA 24541.

All associates selected for the position will be required to pass a 320 hour probationary period.

TASKS:

These positions may require standing and walking on a concrete floor, working in warm temperatures with no air conditioning, doing physically demanding work

in a challenging environment. Maintenance associates are asked to do work at above 10 feet on occasion and enter confined spaces as necessary.

Maintenance Entry associates will be asked to mentor and train with crafts people in all classifications. They will routinely be asked to complete team or individual project work.

They will be evaluated by their mentors and managers routinely through the program. This feedback used to assist in their development through the program.

* Applicants must be a current student that has completed a minimum of 1 year industrial maintenance schooling at a technical college
