REQUIREMENTS

This is a Registered Nurse Supervisor position that provides professional clinical nursing services within a preventive and community primary health care setting under the supervision of the Maternal and Child Health Division Director with the professional guidance of the Medical Director. This position performs or supervises professional medical treatment, care, and health education. The Assistant Director of Nursing for Women's Health provides quality training and evaluation of nursing students, and new clinic staff agency-wide including senior clerks, health service techs, clinic nurses and nurse managers.

Organize and supervise clinical and front desk services for general medical, prenatal, and family planning. Participate in assessment of patient health status, maintain clinical records, interpret medical provider's plan of treatment, teach and counsel patients in the interest of promoting optimum health. Complete referrals to specialist and agencies when appropriate. Record accurately all nursing care provided. Issue medications, take vital signs, and perform venipuncture for specimen collections. Assist with inventory and monitoring of pharmaceutical and medical supplies/equipment; ensuring that the inventory is accurate. Attend and participate in trainings and leadership meetings. Communicates clearly and effectively and keeps others informed by holding regular Clinic Team meetings.

This position will provide oversight of all clinical and clerical functions and serve as a resource/expert for nursing functions in assigned clinic. Work in collaboration with all partners. Fulfill work plan expectations according to contract and federal grant application specifications. Provide the team with leadership to assure integrated operations with all clinical staff and operating units. Act as a liaison between Magnolia Administration, Department of Health-Duval, and the health center staff for the dissemination of nursing policy and practice information. Ensure adherence to nursing protocol policies. Ensure that the clinical staff is trained and the orientation checklist is completed within 90 days of hire. The Registered Nurse Supervisor, in collaboration with other administrators, will assist in hiring and retaining competent clinical staff. Provide assessments and evaluation of the clinical staff performance to the Maternal and Child Health Division Director. Promote professional leadership and growth. Ensures accurate and timely submission of Employee Leave and Attendance Records, Employee Activity Records (EARs), and travel vouchers.

The position serves as a preceptor for nursing students for local colleges. In addition, the positions provides agency-wide training and shadowing of new clinic staff including senior clerks, health service techs, clinic nurses and nurse managers. The position provides feedback to the clinic the new staff will be assigned to in relation to additional supervision and training needs for success in their new position.

Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in accordance with Florida Statute 464 or eligible to practice nursing in accordance with Florida Administrative Code 210-8.27. Must have experience as a nurse in a supervisory or management position. Must have at least three years of experience in an adult care setting (women's health, primary care, specialty care).
