Sr. Design Engineer

The Design Engineer is responsible for the development, design and testing of upgrades, modifications and enhancements to existing equipment and for the development of new food processing equipment. They will render technical assistance to customers, manufacturing personnel, installation personnel and maintenance groups.

  • Overall design and implementation of innovative process equipment and methods, in support of strategic technology platform development projects.
  • Coordinate launch of revised products and maintains version control of engineering documents.
  • Work with 3rd party manufacturing companies, design develop and document parts and equipment for high speed, high volume machines.
  • Design and document product related tooling
  • Design, document, manage and fabricate prototypes.
  • Conduct form/fit feasibility studies on product design concepts and engineering challenges/goals.
  • Ability to make necessary calculations using engineering principles to design and develop equipment as it relates to food processing equipment. (Extractors, Finishers)
  • Make recommendations on design changes for economic, performance, quality enhancement and production issues.
  • Responsible for own work and contributing on team, department and or business result. Typically influences work of cross-functional or extends.
  • Proficient in SolidWorks and Sheet metal (ANSI Standards).

Must have experience with things with motors, heavy mechanical engineer experience. This candidate will be groomed for management, experience with supervising, leading a team, and or mentoring would be a must.
