About this job
We are in need of a few Lab Technician/Chemists with a very respective company in the Cleveland area. It is a 1st shift position and pays $15/hr.
We have two types of positions:
1) panel prep and testing. Spraying panels, weathering testing and doing physical testing of products.
2) Working very hands on position working with mills, working with their hands and formulating automotive paint. The team will determine which position people will work based on experience and need.
3) Using spray equipment to paint panels 10% of the time
Responsibilities:
*Formulate paint in an R&D setting
*Prepare test panels, spray and test
*Work hands on panels and with mills to crush pigment, formulate and test paint
*Perform basic chemical and physical tests on formulations
*Keep lab notes in computer systems
This is a 8 month contract - Small group in corporate R&D environment, must be personable, sharp candidate who works well alone or closely with others.
Requirements:
*Entry level, experience, degreed or non-degreed
*Highly prefer coatings background but open to strong candidates without that background
*Organic Chemistry coursework is a plus
*Attention to detail, professional and sharp
*Must be able to document findings and work in computers
*great personality, team work, hard work and focused on tasks
