About this job
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Accept prescription(s) and obtain patient information from patient or patient's agent
- Receive new verbal prescriptions from prescribers
- Receive any changes in medication, strength or directions
- Inform pharmacist and patient that pharmacist will counsel
- Accept Authorization for Prescription Renewals at the discretion of the Pharmacist
- Perform data entry and processing of new/refill prescriptions
- Enter pertinent patient and prescriptions information into all pharmacy systems
- Process all filing, accounting, and bookkeeping functions as deemed necessary by the Pharmacy Manager and company accounting procedures
- Communicate with pharmacy Vendors and patient third-party insurance companies.
- Maintain records related to the practice of Pharmacy
- Other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
- Individual must be eligible to be registered as a pharmacy technician license with the Tennessee Board of Pharmacy
- Active Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) Registration verified per the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB)
