*AEROTEK IS HIRING MACHINE BUILDERS FOR A LEADING CONTRACT MANUFACTURING FACILITY IN HUNTERSVILLE, NC*

Job Description:

  • Builds industrial machines from start to finish for other manufacturing or industrial clients
  • Fits and assembles components according to assembly blueprints, manuals, engineering memos, sketches, and knowledge of machine construction to construct, rebuild, and repair machines and equipment, using hand tools, power tools and dimensional measuring tools.
  • Verifies conformance of parts to stock list and blueprints, using measuring instruments, such as calipers, gauges, and micrometers.
  • Lays out hole locations and drills and taps holes on parts for assembly.
  • Aligns components for assembly, manually or with hoist, and bolts, screws, dowels, or rivets parts together, using hand tools, power tools, and rivet gun.
  • Verifies alignment and tolerances of moving parts, using measuring instruments, such as dial indicators calipers, micrometers and other gauges.
  • Tests the operation of sub-assemblies at bench and/or machine level to verify operation.
  • Assembles sets up, and operates machine to verify functioning, machine capabilities, and conformance to customer's specifications.
  • May form and fasten piping, fixtures, and attachments required to service machine with air, water, and oil.
  • May be required to install wiring and electrical components to specifications.
  • May work as member of team on limited part of fabrication process.
  • May set up and operate metalworking machines such as Bridgeport mill, vertical and horizontal band saw and lathe.

Job Requirements:

  • 3+ continuous years of previous machine building experience desired
  • Being able to understand / interpret pneumatic schematics is desired
  • Must have an understanding of computer programs such as Excel, Word and Adobe
  • Must be an expert in reading a wide variety of blueprints
  • Must have experience using micrometers and calipers

Job Details:

  • Environment: very clean climate controlled
  • Shift: 1st shift, 6am-430pm Monday-Friday right now and will be for the next couple of months (50 hours/week)
  • Duration: This is an indefinite contract, it is slated to go through at least the end of 2018 and could go longer; if any internal positions become available during that time contractors can be hired on permanently but it is not guaranteed
