Title

Manufacturing Engineering Technician

Overview

This individual will be hands on with the equipment/machinery for their newly launched lines (2 current, 1 being installed), from PLC troubleshooting/programming to replacing dies and maintaining tooling.

Hours

2 Shift (40-50 hours a week) training minimum 1 month on 1st shift.

Pay

$28/HR + .75 shift differential (1.5x overtime after 40 hours)

Mechanical Troubleshooting

Essential Duties

Installation of new equipment and processes

Troubleshoot and repair equipment that is not operating properly

Meticulous documentation of all equipment downtime and countermeasures

Practice proper PPE compliance and maintain a safe working record and environment

Uses illustrated part drawings and operational manuals in the repair, modification, and maintenance of equipment

Inspects equipment for potential problems daily

Troubleshoots PLC HMI and robot programs

Assist production department with machine setup

Assist with assembly cell layout

Skills Abilities

Work autonomously in fast paced and often loud production environment

Knowledge of safety policies and procedures is requires

PLC programming required

Ability to troubleshoot problems, identify root causes and propose and implement remedies

Ability to perform calibrations, installation and maintenance of process and analytic instrumentation

Ability to troubleshoot high speed or highly automated equipment such as AC/DC motors, VFDs, PLCs, servo motors, PLC I/O module and multi-axis robots

Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics

Strong computer skills required; Microsoft office and excel

Mechanical troubleshooting experience in high speed packaging and/or highly automated continuous process environment preferred

Ability to perform mechanical work, valve replacement, conveyor bearing and chain replacement, motor/gearbox replacement, lube routes

Must furnish own hand tools

Education

2 years technical degree

3 or more years' experience is desirable
