About this job

Job Description: Responsible for supervising the truck drivers, coordinating the shipping and receiving of products to and from the plant(s) and the delivery and pickup of company property or product through company trucks or rail cars. May investigate and respond to inquiries regarding distribution and shipping. Coordinates inventory of stock and insures product adjustments are properly applied. Work Environment: Working in an office setting, but will have to interact with truck drivers in the yard.

Shift will start early in the morning, 4am start time
Qualifications: Must have 2+ years of logistics coordination experience, specifically with freight.
Must have 2 years of supervisory experience, specifically with supervision of truck drivers/fleets

Best is someone with fertilizer or food industry experience

Bachelors' degree in related field and or several years of logistics/dispatch experience, preferred work experience is accepted in place of this

Working Knowledge of MS Office and other software
Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work efficiently.
Valid Oregon Driver License and good driving record (CDL preferred).
Performance Expectations: Utilize various software systems, to facilitate product movement planning and scheduling
Prepare and update monthly logistics, schedule to assure deliveries to production locations
Coordinate daily and weekly product delivery schedules with customers and/or drivers
Coordinate daily activity to track location and movement of Marion Ag inventory via Marion Ag trucks
Provide reports to internal and external customers as required
Organizes and maintains hard copy and electronic documentation supporting order fulfillment, distribution means, pricing, and contractual obligations and delegates work to office staff
Prepares proper paperwork for billing and authorization of carrier invoices per defined processes,
Initiates overcharge/undercharge freight bill claims with carriers and tracks reconciliation of the same
Coordinates with operating department to manage inventory levels at multiple plant locations
Verifies inventory locations and availability for shipment against requirements specified in purchase orders
Reviews inventory position daily and weekly against outstanding orders and sales forecasts and takes action to expedite inbound shipments to meet customer demands;
Works with other departments to effectively resolve inventory or order discrepancies that are outside of his or her control
Control driver, truck and route productivity by ensuring that each truck carries a maximum load.
Schedule shipments to ensure compliance with DOT regulation and company policy. Ensure that DOT regulations are enforced.

Ensures that goods are shipped in the timeliest and efficient manner according to documented processes, including planning the transportation route and payload, selecting the mode of transportation, tendering the order for transportation, and tracking the shipment from pick up through delivery all the while targeting cost reduction, freight savings, service and contractual requirements; tracking mileage
