Manual Machinist

*AEROTEK IS HIRING MANUAL MACHINIST FOR A LEADING MANUFACTURING FACILITY IN GASTONIA, NC*

Job Duties:

• Candidates will be responsible for the full setup and operation of Manual Mills and Manual Lathes
• Must be able to do the setup start to finish, changing out parts and tooling out, and operating
• Adjusting the speed, feed, and tooling
• The machines run off of G Code only, and candidates must be able to read the codes and know X & Y axis
• Will work with a high mix, low volume amount of parts; parts are only run for 1-20 pieces max
• Working with materials such as: iron, cast iron, aluminum 1018 steel, 316 and 304 stainless

Job Requirements:

• Machining schooling, training, or certifications are highly preferred
• Minimum of 3-5 years of recent Manual Machining experience
• Candidates must have experience working in a custom job job or specialty shop working with a high mix of parts and low volume per run

Job Details:

• Environment: Climate-controlled, but an industrial machine shop
• Duration: 6 months contract to hire (client will entire a Direct Hire for a highly skilled candidate)
• Shift: 1st, 6am-230pm
• Overtime: as needed typically before or after the shift, or on Saturdays from 6am-12pm
