  • Private, co-educational university located in the Westchester neighborhood on the Westside of Los Angeles, California
  • Engineering Laboratory facilites

Job Description

  • Lab supporting students with projects
  • Oversee and maintain functional, efficient and orderly engineering laboratory facilities and equipment, and perform support activities to promote the instructional goals for the College of Science and Engineering
  • This position provides instructional and project assistance and support to students in the Engineering classes in accordance with assignments and directions from course instructors of other academic personnel
  • Provides technical assistance to students, faculty and staff in the use of equipment and technology in instructional programs
  • Monitors and maintains engineering lab equipment and operations
  • Provides instructional support for the students enrolled in engineering classes and labs requiring technical competence
  • Perform duties in the lab classroom, design lab, or machine shop setting
  • 16 - 20 hours a week, 4 days a week

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field or equivalent experience
  • Experience with CNC programming in SolidWorks, MasterCAM or GibbsCAM
  • Ability to operate manual lathes and mills
  • Skills including but not limited to -- be able to operate standard power tools, machining equipment, experience with the preparation of chemical solutions and reagents including the handling of potentially dangerous chemicals
  • Ability to work with faculty and supervise and engage students working in laboratory and be thoroughly familiar with standard practices used in undergraduate laboratories
  • Ability to work well as part of a team
