About this job
We are looking for a Civil Engineer, EI with experience in Construction Materials Testing. This person would begin in the field performing field inspections and observations for commercial construction projects. Employee will be fully trained in use of the equipment necessary to accomplish their work.
Ideally this person will have 1-3 years with an EIT, however, we are open to entry level candidates as well.
Will also take someone with a Masters degree in Geo-technical Engineering.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform soil density testing using both nuclear gauge and sand cone in accordance with ASTM and project specifications on site at commercial construction projects.
* Performing commercial building and transportation inspections
* Prepare and submit written field reports summarizing daily activities/observations
* Observe proofrolls, undercut operations, perform footing inspections with dynamic cone penetrometer, and inspect rebar.
* Test and work in accordance with Company safety policies.
* Will monitor work procedures for compliance with project specifications.
* Will interact with client representative (supervisors, foremen, project managers, engineers, etc.) at project sites.
* Perform analysis or calculations to check accuracy, applicability and reasonableness of testing data.
