Job Responsibilities:

The Engineering Technician, under minimal supervision, will perform skilled duties in the building, testing, troubleshooting, repair, and calibration of aerospace electronics and equipment in the Electronics Laboratory.

A key contributor to the development and modification of prototypes and able to assist engineers with the testing and debugging of designs.
Troubleshoot to component level and repair analog, digital, and power electronic circuits.
Ability to read and comprehend electrical schematics, blue prints, word orders, production drawings, and sample assemblies. Must be able to receive verbal instructions regarding the duties to be performed.
Ability to prototype and develop custom test setups for the evaluation of circuit performance.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum AA degree in Electronics and 8 years minimum Experience in the repair, maintenance and operation of aerospace electronic equipment and/or working in an engineering lab environment on electronic equipment
  • Fine Pitch soldering experience and previous certification
  • Current IPC--A-610 certification and J-Std-001 Certification a plus
  • Familiarity with National Instruments PXI Chassis or similar modular test equipment system a plus.
  • Electromechanical theory and practices; tools, materials, and equipment used in the repair and maintenance of electronic equipment.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the following:
  • Ohms Law
  • Transient response of RC and RL circuits
  • Transistor technologies (FET and BJT) and their basic operation
  • Proficiency with the following bench equipment:
  • Oscilloscope
  • Logic Analyzer
  • DMM
  • Power Supplies
