Aerotek is looking for 2 Lab Techs/Chemists to fill roles in an alcohol manufacturing company in Shelbyville, KY.

Job Description:

Operational knowledge of QC laboratory instrumentation - DMA, GC, UV/Vis., FTIR, Karl Fisher.

  • Proficiency in all test methods, including wet chemistry analysis
  • Knowledge and awareness of TTB regulations, GMP, SOPs, work instructions associated with all paperwork and documentation
  • Ability to test all incoming raw materials, intermediate batches, and outgoing finished products
  • Ability to interpret test data and determine if product meets specifications.
  • Ability to prioritize samples based on the manufacturing schedule and shipping demands
  • Prepare proper documentation for all incoming (product files) and outgoing products (COAs), including warehouse requests
  • Review and sign off on the batch records and release of products through Navision
  • Communicate and share responsibilities with laboratory staff
  • Communicate effectively throughout the organization
  • Maintaining retain samples for tested raw materials and finished products
  • Prepare new lab reagents when supply is used up or expired
  • Maintain neat and orderly work environment, including general upkeep of the lab - ex. managing lab flush, loading/running dishwasher, restocking disposable pipettes bins, clearing GC carousels, and filing
  • Organize and verify batch records / retains prior to archiving
  • Organize and file testing data in appropriate product files
  • Perform Daily Performance Verifications on all instruments
  • Post monthly metrics

Work Environment:

  • It is an ethanol alcohol manufacturing facility, working in a lab environment.
  • Casual dress, lab coat, safety goggles, steel toed shoes

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or related sciences required.

Experience

  • Pharmaceutical/GMP experience a plus.
  • Background in an industrial, fast paced, chemical manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Must possess effective interpersonal and communication skills.

Performance Expectations:

  • Will be based on the ability to work well with others, accurate and timely documentation,

Pay rate: Between $17-20/hr, depending on experience.

  • Must be open to shifts
