Facilities Technician - Full-time / Part-time

Maintenance Mechanic

• $14-16 an hour

Employees are expected to show up to work in the morning and receive daily assignments. These individuals are responsible for performing quality checks and performing basic maintenance on Ladles and Tundish's.

Overview
The Ladles have a slide gate on the bottom to pour the molten steel. Once the Ladle is used, it will be sent to a gate shop. They let the ladle sit for 12 hours before performing any maintenance on it. They will perform routine checks on the games from the ladle. They will tear it apart, mic out all of the parts to make sure they are up to spec.They will then verify the mounting plate on top for flatness. Once everything is put back we will run tests to evaluate the ladle and then it will be sent back. Gate shop employees are also responsible for performing maintenance on Tundish's.

The Tundish is what the ladles pour into. The tundish has 2 slide gates on the bottom. The Tundish has 2 slide gates on the bottom of it. They will run heats through the tundish and then take it out of service for us to remove and rebuild the gates. They will be responsible for removing the gates from the bottom and servicing them. They will check all the bolts and re-torque them, check springs and sliding parts to make sure no steel has dried inside the gate.Once completed they will lubricate them and remount them on the next tundish scheduled to go into service.


Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret tape measure
• Proficient with torque wrench
• Power tools experience

Nice to have:

• Structural welding experience
• Construction experience
• Micrometer and caliper experience
• Mechanic experience

Hours

Swing shift between 1st and 2nd.

• 1st Shift: 6:15am-3:00pm
• 2nd shift: 2:15pm-11:00pm
• 5 hours of OT max
