POSITION SUMMARY: To trouble shoot and/or repair plant equipment and facilities including the installation, modification, repair of tools, implements, structures, vehicles, etc. from an electrical, electronic and mechanical nature. Night Shift.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Accomplish assigned tasks in the safest, most effective and efficient manner possible.
  • Troubleshoot and problem-solve equipment related maintenance issues to ensure that our production processes are running within the predetermined control parameters.
  • Work from blueprints, schematic drawings, verbal instructions, handbooks and manuals as necessary to perform maintenance on equipment.
  • Carryout preventative measures and look for alternative solutions to maintenance problems encountered.
  • Perform all required preventative maintenance work on assigned equipment.
  • Prepare and maintain all documentation, recording all repairs; including changes and modifications made to our plant equipment.
  • Maintain and promote a safe and clean work environment throughout the maintenance department.
  • Instruct, train, guide and assist other maintenance personnel as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned based on business needs.
  • Conforms with and abides by all regulations, policies, work procedures, instruction, and all safety rules.
  • Exhibits regular, reliable, punctual and predictable attendance.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Education: College Degree in maintenance or related field preferred
  • State Career Readiness Certificate at the Silver Level required
  • Basic understanding of the principles of electricity, electronics & mechanical and plant operating systems
  • Must be able to read blueprints & schematic drawings
  • Minimum of two years’ experience as a maintenance mechanic and/or electrician in a manufacturing environment (including knowledge of such items as: plant systems and related equipment (steam, compressed air, vacuum, HVAC, lighting systems, domestic and process water, fire alarm and sprinkler systems, fluid mechanics, dust collection, material handling systems (conveyors, lifts, and pneumatic and fluid transport systems), motor and gearbox sizing and types, pump applications (including sizing, plumbing, and rebuilding of these systems) preferred
  • Basic electrical components (including sizing starters, motors, overloads, fuses, and transformers)
  • Able to hardwire relay logic and PLC’s
  • Single phase and three phase systems (including the proper bonding and grounding methods of these units per Section 250 NEC)
  • Must be able to drive lift trucks
  • Able to weld using Stick, TIG & MIG methods preferred
  • Must be able to use the typical tools of the trade (including VOM meters and gauges)
  • Must be able to use computers
  • Must be able to work effectively in a team based work environment
PHYSICAL & TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must be able to lift weights of at least 50 pounds (unassisted).
  • Must be able to wear and use a full face respirator.
  • Must be able to stand high temperatures and tolerate industrial odors.
  • Frequent bending, twisting, squatting and working at elevated heights and confined spaces.
