Training – We invest in you! The Smithe Training Program consists of classroom instruction, hands on learning and time on the sales floor designed to give you an overview of life as a Smithe Designer. You’ll receive training on design, products, sales, business practices and computer technology. In the last weeks of the program, you will be working fully with clients, applying the skills you’ve learned while being mentored.

Responsibilities:
  • Greet clients in a retail showroom setting and demonstrate in-depth knowledge of products and services to customers while guiding them through the selection of furniture and decorative accessories.
  • This is a sales position first and foremost – to work on design projects, your directness and connection skills are invaluable. Work with clients in one of our retail design centers or through in-home consultations to create interior design solutions.
  • Prepare and present design projects and pricing to clients through great communication skills.
  • Utilize company technology to communicate with clients, vendors and ensure accurate ordering and pricing.
Qualifications:

Experience and/or interest in either retail, interior design, buying, visual merchandising, sales, or furniture, a plus, but not required

Management experience, a plus

Ability to provide customer service
