Job Title: Warehouse Generalist 1

Department: Warehouse

General Function

Prepares store orders including accurately selecting ordered items via a voice automated selection system and packages them for shipment. Works as Warehouse Generalist 2 as needed.

Positions that Report to you: None

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provides customer service by accurately and timely selecting orders via a voice automated selection system and safely packages them for shipment to assigned stores.
  • Accurately loads merchandise on assigned trailer for delivery and records selectors EXE number.
  • Accurately receives freight and checks it in by matching the manifest to the product, inspecting for damages and correct height, and checking the tag for slotting. Reports damage and problems to a supervisor.
  • Accurately replenishes select slots.
  • Upon certification, safely operates pallet jack, forklift, pick-in-reserve machine, loader, turrit truck, and clamp/slip-sheet machine as needed.
  • Reports to work when scheduled and on time.
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Loads orders from other departments on trailers as needed.
  • Collects empty pallets from slots, sorts, and puts away.
  • Keeps aisles cleans and neat by picking up cardboard, plastic, and sweeping. Wraps, removes and properly disposes of damaged product to the designated area
  • Replaces equipment batteries as needed.
  • Properly trains on all equipment before operating the updates on procedures as needed.
  • Keeps equipment in good working order by reporting problems and operating safely.
  • Ensures accurate inventory through accurate product counting.
  • Performs other job related duties and special projects as required.
  • Adheres to company policies.
Education and Experience

High School or equivalent experience; Six months or less of similar or related work experience

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Worker Characteristics
  • Must have the ability to meet the language and hearing capabilities for voice automated selection
  • Must have the ability to follow one or two-step instructions; routine, repetitive task
  • Must be able to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division involving whole numbers
  • Must have the ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions; write identifying information; request supplies orally or in writing
Physical Requirements
  • Visual requirements include: ability to see detail at near range with or without correction
  • Must be physically able to perform heavy work: exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, 50 pounds of force frequently, and 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects
  • Must be able to perform the following physical activities: stooping, kneeling, reaching, handling, grasping, feeling, talking, climbing, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, hearing, and repetitive motions
Working Conditions

The duties of this position are conducted in a warehouse environment. There is exposure to dirt, noise, temperature extremes, and equipment movement hazards. There is significant pressure to meet set standards for order selectors and equipment operators.
