The Director of Clinical Services is responsible for ensuring successful day-to-day clinical operations and delivery of clinical services across the sites of Henrietta Johnson Medical Center. The Director will be primarily responsible for overseeing the operational efficiency and quality of clinic services at all clinic sites, including direct supervision of Clinical Support Staff. The Director will lead efforts to improve quality outcomes and clinic operations in a way that contributes to an enhanced experience for staff and patients. The Director of Clinical Services will oversee the functioning of key systems vital to clinic operations. The Director will play a central role in the clinic’s goal to achieve and maintain Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) recognition and optimizing electronic health records (EHR) and other Health Information Technology. The Director of Clinical Services will lead and facilitate key process improvements in patient access measures, clinic flow, population based quality improvement, and patient experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Participate in the recruiting and hiring processes. Evaluate the following: nursing, ancillary services, case management, patient flow, support Quality Improvement including Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH), Meaningful Use (MU), Uniform Data System (UDS) and special programs as assigned.
  • Attains expert knowledge of NCQA PCMH standards, policies, processes and application requirements. Advises management of changes to continuously improve content and delivery
  • Develops new policies and procedures necessary for PCMH implementation. Evaluates existing policies for compliance with the PCMH model.
  • Develops and implements best practices to improve work flow related to PCMH quality incentives and practice transformations within the clinical environment.
  • Develops, oversees and facilitates training programs to align work flow and Health Center culture with the PCMH model. Provides education and support to staff as they implement and sustain measures to improve chronic disease management.
  • Oversees the collection, integration and evaluation of diverse data related to clinical and operational performance and medical home transformation activities.
  • Works collaboratively with other staff members in regard the PCMH model. Evaluates the performance of care teams and makes recommendations for changes. Provides input to the care coordination process. Participates in the quality improvement committee to ensure PCMH issues are included in the overall quality plan.
  • Develop, implement and train staff on nursing protocols and team play while maintaining the highest standard of nursing practice.
  • Manage medical supplies inventory and emergency supplies and equipment, ensuring adequate levels at all times, while working with the Chief Financial Officer in ordering, to ensure efficiency.
  • Manage in-service education of nursing staff, and monitor and ensure proper licensure of staff.
