Primary Job Purpose:
Management of assigned block of business; working directly with Producers and Executive Account Managers. Accounts may be fully insured, partially self-funded or self-insured.
Management of assigned block of business; working directly with Producers and Executive Account Managers. Accounts may be fully insured, partially self-funded or self-insured.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Preparing pre-renewal, renewal and marketing reports
- Comparing health plan benefits and costs
- Calculating employee contributions and developing strategies to meet client needs
- Prepare annual client service plans
- Conduct annual open enrollment meetings, health fairs
- Collect new client information for HIB technology offerings
- Author correspondence, communication materials and compliance notices as required
- Negotiate rates and benefits as required
- Coordinate ERISA form 5500 annual filing
- Audit client information, premium and commission splits in the HIB Agency Management system (Zywave)
- Other duties as assigned
- Excellent communication skills; both verbal and written
- Proficiency in MS office; notably Outlook, Word, Power Point and Excel
- Three or more years working in group health insurance or benefit brokerage/consulting
- Knowledge of and practical experience in regulatory issues such as ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA and various state and federal regulations specific to health insurance
- Must understand the basic principles of group underwriting
- CA Life and Disability license required
- College degree preferred; high school diploma necessary
