Job Description:

Under general supervision, but in accordance with established policies and procedures, presents and promotes all Credit Union services and products. Opens all types of new accounts, assists members in the resolution of problems and processes consumer loans by interviewing applicants, originating loan applications, notifying applicants of loan decisions and disbursing loan proceeds. Achieving or exceeding sales goals set by management from time to time is key to success in this position.

Major Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provides accurate information to members regarding Credit Union products, services, policies and procedures. As appropriate, advises members of regulations applicable to these policies and procedures.
  • Interviews loan applicants, gathering the required information for a credit application, explaining loan options, rates, terms, and collateral requirements. Advises members on the best options.
  • Responds to member inquiries regarding credit union services and/or account discrepancies. Obtains and routes necessary information to support departments for extensive account research and/or adjustments.
  • Conducts productive interview with members and identifies cross-selling opportunities. Actively cross-sells by suggesting specific Credit Union products and services. Tracks member and sales information by completing appropriate forms and questionnaires required by sales programs.
  • Accurately completes forms for opening and processing all types of accounts, including savings, checking, money market, IRAs, and CDs. Initiates and processes request for direct deposit, etc.
  • Accurately completes reports for loan, new account activity, etc., and forwards daily to assigned department.
  • Works closely with other departments in obtaining information and ascertaining necessary corrections. Coordinates a response to member inquires and insures prompt answers.
  • Works interactively with other team members to promote unity and consistency of operations within the organization.
  • Works with other team members towards the attainment of branch/organizational goals, in addition to their personal/professional goals.
  • Able to work at any branch location.
  • Complies with all applicable Rules, Regulations and Statutes of the NCUA and other appropriate governing bodies to include but not limited to: the Credit Union Bylaws, Credit Union Code of Conduct, Credit Union Employee Guidebook, Bank Secrecy/Anti-Money Laundering Act, Fair Housing Act, Fair Lending Act, and Fair Credit Reporting Act.
  • Ability to perform duties defined in Credit Union Security Program.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Experience and Skills:
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience:Two (2) years general work experience and three (3) years of sales experience, preferably in consumer lending, loan administration or opening new accounts in a financial institution.
  • Skills: Knowledge of PC applications including Word and Excel required. Experience with automated core banking system preferred.Good organizational skills and attention to detail required.Knowledge of consumer lending and account opening and closing required.
  • Communication: Requires excellent interviewing and interpersonal skills, ability to listen to member’s needs and promote appropriate Credit Union products and services.
  • Supervisory: None Required.
