The Microsoft account is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join the Global Security Engineering team.

The Maintenance Engineer is a Redmond based position focused on providing security systems maintenance and support to all Microsoft locations throughout Puget Sound/Redmond.

RELATIONSHIPS:

Reports to: Global Maintenance Manager

Direct Reports: None

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
  • Familiar with video management systems, access control software/hardware, intrusion detection systems and intercom systems.
  • Troubleshoot, repair and maintain physical security infrastructure
  • Familiar with general low voltage electrical concepts
  • Understand circuits and relays
  • Familiar with network infrastructure, power over ethernet (PoE), cabling, switches and routers
  • Familiar with general construction and facilities related components like HVAC, electrified door hardware, ADA
  • Provide Global Security and related customers first line support of all security systems for emergency response, with escalations to appropriate resources as appropriate.
  • Perform On-Call duties as required.
  • Provide email monitoring and response for security support alias.
  • Assist with building escalation and response process documentation.
  • Provide Skype support as required.
  • Provide telephone support as required
  • Perform site/devices audits to confirm Global Security compliance documents
  • Contribute towards all Microsoft security related documentation and user guides
  • Continual Improvement Program Contribution - Contribute to a continual improvement program to constantly make changes to support processes in order to improve delivery and simplify service related processes.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 2 plus years of experience in customer service driven environment.
  • Have the core competencies capable of troubleshooting and maintaining computer hardware and software.
  • Customer focused and results oriented person possessing strong influencing skill and comfortable working in a fast-paced and multi-tasking environment.
  • Proven ability to work with and effectively communicate with facility site leaders and senior management.
  • Comfortable being self-driven and actively acquires knowledge of and the ability to demonstrate the effective use and management of established and leading edge technology, software, processes, critical information and data as well as equipment and tools required for success in your area.
  • Work effectively in a culturally diverse work group.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English, with the ability to interact professionally with all levels of Microsoft Global Security personnel.
