About this job

To provide observations and recommendations for individual’s continued treatment in accord with the regulations and guidelines of services for persons with developmental disabilities.
  • Ability to perform assessments, interpret psychological behavioral problems and test findings.
  • Develop behavioral intervention plans with the intervention of the ITT.
  • Ensure that Behavioral Plans are updated annually, semi-annually, and as needed.
  • Provide adequate clinical contact with consumers.
  • Engage individuals in group counseling or individual counseling as needed.
  • Through direct observation, staff feedback and data review; monitor the implementation of the behavior plan.
  • Train staff in implementation of behavioral plans, both in formal training sessions and in “hands on” training.
  • Ensure timely communication with all members of ITT with regard to individuals’ progress changes/modifications to behavior programs.
  • Report all concerns regarding active treatment to the Developmental Disabilities Specialist (DDS), Residence Manager (RM).
  • Participate in the activities of the Human Rights Committee and the Incident Review Committee.
  • Provide in-service training in area of expertise.
  • Maintain appropriate and effective interpersonal relationships with team members and administrative staff.
  • Maintain a reliable and consistent schedule based on the needs of assigned site(s).
  • Review professional publications on an ongoing basis and informs ITT or innovations and changes within the field or psychology that may affect the quality of life of individuals.
  • Maintain appropriate and adequate records of individuals assigned.
  • Submit written reports annually, semi-annually, or as requested by ITT within required time frames.
  • Coordinate behavioral programs/plans with day treatment /school settings and families where acceptable.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to professional growth.
  • Maintain professional appearance as per agency standards
  • Maintain clean and organized work and common areas.
  • May be assigned other tasks and duties by the Residence Manager that is reasonably related to their job responsibilities.
Qualifications
Education
Master’s Degree in Psychology from an accredited program.

Skills and/or Experience Required
  • Minimum 1-year’s experience working with MR/DD preferably in a residential, health or treatment related setting preferred.
  • Ability to conduct staff training.
  • Proficiency in computers.
  • Demonstrated competency in written, verbal and computational skills to document records in accordance with program standards.
