The Evaluation Assistant provides administrative support to all aspects of the day to day operations of evaluations of preschool children at MECC.
  • Schedule appointments, meetings, and respond to callers and visitors, supporting evaluation unit staff as required.
  • Maintain documentation, records, and tracking information as requested.
  • Provide administrative support to the evaluation coordinator and assist in managing the contacts and documentation required for evaluations.
  • Maintain and develop various reporting systems for the evaluation and intake unit.
  • Interface with families via phone and written correspondence.
  • May participate in various committees including safety, emergency preparedness, administrative planning, etc.
  • Engage in all aspects of billing under the direction of the Coordinator of Evaluations and Intake.
  • Participate in obtaining marketing tools for the evaluation and intake unit.
  • Comply with regulatory requirements and policy and procedures in all areas, and maintain clean and organized work and common areas.
  • Maintain appropriate and effective interpersonal relationships with team and department members, parents, other staff, supervisors, administrators, and outside agencies. Demonstrate:
  • Open communication, flexibility and the ability to learn and utilize team building strategies
  • The ability to self-evaluate, to utilize supervision and problem solve
  • The ability to both offer and accept assistance to/from others
Qualifications
Education

High school diploma required, college degree preferred.

Experience

Required skills include strong written and verbal communication skills with a sound working knowledge of computer software, the ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines, and excellent interpersonal and analytic skills. One year experience as an administrative assistant, Bilingual Spanish preferred.

Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook and the ability to learn new database systems
