BASIC JOB PURPOSE:
Assumes total responsibility for a designated department on a 24 hour basis, 7 days per week. Implements the planning, organizing, directing, evaluating, controlling, communicating and teaching required for a specific unit (s) under the direction of the Director of Nursing.
Serving Merced County Westside area with 48 care beds, the facility is part of Memorial Hospitals Association and Sutter Health, a not-for-profit organization that exists to maintain and improve the health status of citizens in its geographic area. Memorial Hospital Los Banos provides and promotes effective inpatient and outpatient health care services including 24-hour Emergency Care, Rural Health Clinic, Surgery, Obstetrics, Pediatrics, Diagnostics Imaging, and Intensive Care Unit and Physical Therapy.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
:
- Current licensure as registered nurse in the State of California. Diploma or Associate Degree with three years experience.
- At least three years recent nursing experience in a position where managerial and leadership qualities have been demonstrated.
- Demonstrated in depth knowledge of nursing process, performance improvement, budget and accounting, management of human resources, age specific competency, patient rights and organizational rights, environment of care including regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrated communication, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to read, write, hear and verbally communicate in English to the degree required to perform the job.
- Must be able to travel in and out of Merced County, including transcontinental travel. If MHLB and/or own vehicle used on Association business, must possess valid California Drivers License and upon request proof of liability insurance.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
:
Masters degree with 2 years clinical experience in the area of concentration or
Baccalaureate Degree with 5 years current experience in area of concentration or
Diploma or Associate Degree with 10 years current clinical experience in the area of concentration,
National Certification in area of Specialty, if available.
