Our Team Is Growing

EverQuote is looking for a talented, goal-driven professional to join our team as a Business Development Representative (BDR). This position will help us to become more efficient as a sales organization and will be an essential part of our continued growth.

The BDR will be responsible for researching prospective customers, creating and utilizing outreach strategies, and identifying potential sales opportunities. In this role, you will conduct exploratory conversations with prospects, use your business acumen to identify how EverQuotes customer engagement platform can help grow their business and successfully position the value proposition of our company in order to set up sales appointments. Our BDR's are expected to possess a high degree of professionalism, a commitment to building relationships based on a deep knowledge of our products and have a passion for sales.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Develop and communicate with qualified leads
  • Engage with gatekeepers, producers and licensed agents in a professional manner
  • Research targeted accounts, determine key contacts and opportunities
  • Effectively articulate EverQuotes value proposition, products, and services to prospective clients
  • Conduct high volume prospecting to qualify leads through calls, emails, and social media
  • Ask discovery questions to properly qualify decision makers (DMs) for future meetings
  • Fill pipeline to ensure Agency Sales team is set to reach agreed upon sales targets within expected deadlines
Qualifications:
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent in-person and virtual presentation skills
  • Deadline and detail-oriented
  • Customer engagement software/SaaS industry experience and knowledge (preferred)
  • Ability to function both independently and as part of a team
  • Success working in a fast-paced, dynamic and creative environment with a rapidly growing company
  • Bachelors degree

  • Effectiveness of Verbal Communication Candidate must be able to clearly express thoughts and ideas without the use of verbal pausing exactness of word choices is critical
  • Presentation Skills Candidate must possess solid presentation skills and an ability to tell a story in an intelligent manner
  • Attention to Detail Candidate must be an effective planner and time manager with a solid attention to detail
  • Emotional Intelligence Candidate has to be able to recognize important signals from colleagues, prospects and clients
  • Toughness/Grit Candidate has to be willing to do the hard work of calling prospects. This is not for everyone, so they have to demonstrate some history of handling adversity.
  • Competitiveness/Drive Candidate has to be competitive without being merciless. All good salespeople have this aspect to their personality.
  • Honesty/Integrity Candidate has to have a sound moral compass and should not act selfishly or without integrity. This has been a fundamental flaw in the operation of the sales organization to this point.
  • Team Oriented Candidate should be willing to lend a hand and celebrate the success of teammates (without sacrificing his or her own performance.)
  • Coachable Candidate should be able to demonstrate coachability and be willing to accept constructive feedback.
  • Eager to Learn Candidate should be focused on improving and should be willing to spend extra time on assignments/improvement outside of work to develop knowledge, skills, relationships, etc.
