Sales Development Representative (Bedford MA)

EnterpriseDB, the largest provider of Postgres software and services and a leader in the open source database marketplace, is a successful, 10-year-old enterprise software company that still has a startup’s energy and opportunity to have an impact.

Position Summary:

This position is part of the field selling organization and reports directly to Director of Inside Sales and Sales Development. The primary focus of this role will be to work with the Enterprise Account Executive team to prospect into, qualify and establish introductions by setting up a meeting with key decision makers and influencer’s within specified Target Accounts in the F500/Global 2000 segment. The final objective is to disseminate leads/meetings for the EAE team that will ultimately drive additional revenue.

Responsibilities:
  • Identify new initiatives and projects in existing Strategic and Enterprise customers.
  • Prospect into targeted accounts to identify initiatives and valuable contacts, then qualify and set appointments for the field sales team.
  • Communicate to leads via phone and email daily and track productivity daily in Salesforce.
  • Achieve activity metrics for calls/emails.
  • Meet monthly and quarterly meeting goals.
  • Maintain and update Salesforce.com ongoing to ensure the most current information is captured and recorded.
Qualifications:
  • Excellent personal and communication skills. Comfortable speaking on the phone and can write professional emails to prospects.
  • Interest in the high-tech market and learning the open source community.
  • Goal oriented with the ability to complete individual goals as well as work in a team environment.
  • Can multi-task and be organized: calls, emails, record management and new assignments.
  • Enthusiastic learner who will embrace new product and sales information and guidance from the sales team.
  • Ideal individual is someone that wants a career in sales.
  • Must be disciplined and self-motivated and a desire to be a leader among peers.
Requirements:
  • 2-3 years’ experience preferred in corporate sales or related experience
  • A degree in business management or marketing is preferred.
  • Must be adaptable to change and embrace change with a positive can-do attitude.
  • Aspiration to grow a long-term career in sales.
  • Responds to management direction and solicits feedback to improve performance. Familiar with the high-tech industry and some of the main players.
