Warranty Assistant

The Motor Werks Auto Group is looking to add a Warranty Assistant to our team at the Mercedes Benz of Hoffman Estates location. This role will support the Mercedes Passenger Car and Sprinter teams and is a critical member of the Service Team. This individual will work closely with the Warranty Administrator, Service Managers, Advisors and Technicians for Mercedes Benz of Hoffman Estates.

What does a Warranty Assistant do each day?

• Prepares, records, and submits warranty claims to the factory
• Researches short and over payments, prepares adjustments accordingly and turns them into the office
• Books technicians and invoices repair orders as they are completed according to instruction from management
• Verifies warranty repair documentation criteria required by factory
• Reconciles all warranty receivables with payments through the appropriate accounting schedule
• Resubmits all rejected claims promptly or receives authorization to adjustment them accordingly
• Follows up on payment of outstanding claims
• Stays informed of all factory recalls and bulletins
• Maintains training requirements through manufacturer
• Assists with body shop and sublet warranty claims as needed
• Applies discounts and coupons in accordance to instruction from management
• Verifies dollar amounts for repairs and takes necessary steps to correct any differences in accordance to standards set forth from management
• Prepares repair invoices verifying necessary technician documentation, adds additional documentation as directed for extended warranty payment or other notes, and confirms correct totals for payment prior to printing for advisors
• Pre-books any partially completed repairs

*To be successful in this role knowledge and experience with automotive factory warranties and CDK is preferred.
