POSITION PURPOSE: To provide administrative and secretarial support to the Chief Financial Officer, Chief Nursing Officer#and to other members of the executive staff. KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE: The minimum required education and experience are a high school diploma plus experience as an administrative assistant at an executive level. College level training in Business Administration is preferred, but a comprehensive background in administrative processes may be substituted for formal education. Sufficient previous office experience required and familiarity with hospitals is preferred. The successful candidate must possess excellent written and oral communication skills. Incumbent must also be able to manage multiple concurrent tasks with exceptional organizational skills. The position requires excellent typing skills (accuracy and speed), and knowledge of various computer applications including, but not limited to: word processing, spreadsheets, databases and graphic presentation software. Must be able to operate general office machines including the typewriter, personal computer, 10-key adding machine by touch, FAX machine and photocopier. Transcription, bookkeeping and mathematical aptitude are essential. Knowledge of medical terminology helpful. A positive attitude is critical. ENVIRONMENT: South Peninsula Hospital is a combined 22 bed critical access hospital and 28 bed long term care facility with a nine bed Emergency Department located at the southern end of the Kenai Peninsula. The environment is generally pleasant, clean and well maintained. The position requires walking, sitting for prolonged periods, stooping, and standing. Generally, physical demands are light and most work is performed inside. Working hours may fluctuate based on the demands of the work.
