Job Summary: The technician’s role is to provide the services required by the customer as supervised by Service manager.

Requirements

  • HVAC Journeyman License preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in the commercial HVAC trade.
  • Advanced HVAC training and manufacturer training.
  • Knowledge and understanding of facets of techniques used for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning service and installation.
  • Competent at diagnosing refrigeration systems, air distribution systems and equipment controls.
  • Able to work Monday-Friday with occasional overtime during afternoons, evenings and weekends as needed.Hours may involve start times as early as 5:00 a.m.NOTE:Specific project requirements that may require afternoon or evening/night shifts.
  • Must be able to work on-call shifts as scheduled.
  • Intermediate arithmetic skills.
  • Communicate effectively in English (aural, verbal, and written).
  • Able to operate safely a motor vehicle to travel from site to site.
  • Possess current, valid driver’s license (not under suspension or limitation).
  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, crawl, twist, bend, push, pull, carry, climb (stairs & ladders), and be able to grip tools (fine motor coordination).
  • Able to withstand temperature extremes and exposure to elements (rain, snow, etc).
  • Able to withstand exposure to dust, fumes, heights, confined spaces.
  • Possess skills related to balance, agility, color differentiation, hearing, eye-hand coordination, flexibility, depth perception, peripheral vision, and manual dexterity.
  • Able to problem solve and analyze situations.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain a presence of professionalism in appearance, behavior and job knowledge.
  • Evaluate possible service solutions based on customer’s needs/concerns.
  • Consult Senior Tech or Service Manager to diagnose problems accurately and timely.
  • Explain to the customer any deficiencies and suggested repairs.
  • Perform service, repairs and maintenance in a timely manner alone or under supervision.
  • Make efficient use of materials, parts, supplies and company tools.
  • Complete service tickets and email them to the office on a daily basis.
  • Maintain the other required paperwork (daily job tickets, reports, time sheets etc.)
  • Maintain the minimum suggested personal tools list; maintain company-provided tools.
  • Maintain work vehicle (oil changes, and other required services).
  • Keep company vehicle neat, clean and representative of our high standards.
  • Make recommendations to supervisors for ways that will improve the department and make the department more profitable.
