Shaker Youth Soccer Association PFC (Premier Football Club) is looking to add a Recreational League Director/Assistant Director of Coaching. You will serve as the face of the recreational soccer program of approximately 300 players and to various stakeholders, such as U8 league participants, parents, coaches and City officials. We offer flexible work hours, the ability to work from home and autonomy. We are a growing soccer club with many programs, including Premier, Travel and Recreational Soccer, camps and clinics, and a young player program at the kindergarten level. We also manage the recreational programs for other organizations, such as Beachwood City Schools. Our vertical integration from age 4 through 19, with programming breadth and player depth, makes our program unique in NE Ohio. We have 4 paid employees and we augment our staff with 10 pro independent contractor coaches and about 200 volunteers.

We aim to:

• provide developmentally appropriate soccer programs,

• teach the game as a component of developing well rounded youths, and

• develop youths to the best of their ability.

You will:

• report to and work closely with Paul Driesen, USSF A-license and UEFA A-license, Dutch B-license

• design and implement developmentally appropriate soccer programs for children starting at age 4 through to recreational soccer grade 6,

• work with the director of coaching to develop and coach travel teams,

• recruit, develop, evaluate and train coaches for the recreational program and when necessary travel teams,

• work with the director of coaching to develop and implement the Association’s coaching philosophy and mission,

• coach both travel and premier teams,

• manage the transition of players from recreational soccer to travel,

• manage the implementation and execution of club programs,

• help to coordinate volunteer coaches,

• lead and organize the inter-city U8 league,

• be the face of the recreational league to various stakeholders, including the City, parents, schools and the board of directors,

• raise the awareness of the organization within the community.

Qualifications:

• Existing or willingness to obtain USSF C, D or E License

• 2 years of direct coaching experience and age group programming

• Existing or willingness to obtain a National Youth License

• Strong conflict management skills with adults and youths

• Strong management, organizational, problem solving and communication skills

• Self-motivated, goal orientated, independent and one who can effectively prioritize

• The ability to flex hours up and down to meet program demand, evening and weekend availability required during the season

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office software suite and the ability to learn new technology programs.

• Bachelor Degree.

Pay and Hours:

This is a part time position with an estimate of 1,500 hours of annual work, paid by salary and incentive compensation. The hours vary by month and will flex up and down based on the time of year and month. Work time will be required during weeknights and weekends during the school year and more flexible during the summer. The salary is $25,000 per year plus incentive compensation.
