Summary Description:
Produce quality aluminum castings for automotive contracts while reducing scrap and rework, meeting on time shipment schedules and minimizing cost.
Essential Functions:
- Pour molten aluminum through manual and/or automated machine pouring
- Tend the molten aluminum furnaces to ensure proper levels, cleanliness and consistency
- Rap out sand cores from castings, saw gating from molded part, grind access material from casting
- Perform general mold prep work
- Perform general cast post-pour work
- Operate mobile equipment and cranes
- Operate general hand tools such as hammers, files, punches, etc.
- Operate manual machines and power hand tools such as drill press, saws, grinders, drills, sanders, die grinders, etc.
- Operate automated machines
- Perform housekeeping
- Perform visual and hands on part inspection
- Complete general paperwork such as routing, scheduling and quality
- Perform any and all other job related tasks as assigned
Skills or Experience Required:
Must have High School diploma or GED; forklift experience and equivalent job experience are a plus.
