The General Maintenance Worker for the Maintenance department is responsible for the mechanical and technical requirements within the operation to meet the departmental goals and objectives (KPI’s). They will be responsible to the Department Supervisor and responsible for career resilience and departmental success within the vision, mission, and core values established. The General Maintenance Worker must have achieved a satisfactory level of technical & professional skill/knowledge of the equipment and resources within the Maintenance Department to perform at a high level of accomplishment.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Follows all company GMP’s and work in a manner consistent with all corporate and regulatory, food safety, quality and sanitation requirements
  • Communicate with others from different departments
  • Must be willing to attend outside training to upgrade skill levels as it pertains to the job and business at hand within the operations
  • Follows established plant procedures and offer recommendations as needed
  • Follows good manufacturing practices
  • Assists with job safety analysis and on-the-job training of existing and new employees
  • Attends at educational training seminars as needed (i.e. Loss control Training)
  • Maintains boiler
  • Follows established Plant/Company safety rules
  • Reports unsafe acts, conditions, and accidents to Supervisor/Team Leader and assist in accident investigation.
  • Assists with duties in other Departments as needed
  • Follows all GMP’s and work in a manner consistent with all corporate and regulatory, food safety, quality and sanitation requirements
  • Basic understanding of preventive maintenance and master sanitation
Teamwork and Collaboration. May provide and/or receive input from across functional boundaries. Understands organizational mesh points and potential synergies. Integrates team efforts across the organization.

  • Ability to use mathematics
  • Ability to work as part of a team and promote team building
  • Must be willing to attend outside training to upgrade skill levels as it pertains to the job and business at hand within the operations
  • Must be able to learn computers and how to operate one effectively
  • Ability to lift 100 pounds
Required Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2-3 years of maintenance experience and /or training
Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • Manufacturing environment
    • Often exposed to humid and loud conditions
