Job Summary:
Responsible for direct and coordinating the daily work of employees performing work in the specific maintenance disciplines of Mechanical, Electrical and/or Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) and their associated structures. Ensure that industrial and radiation safety requirements are followed. Plan work schedule to accomplish required maintenance and, when required, assigns priorities.
Span of control – Directly supervises approximately 10-15 employees.
Key Accountabilities:
- Administer the functions of the Union Agreement and enforces Company and Fermi policies for the Maintenance section, including any disciplinary actions.
- Interface with site work groups and outside contractors to alleviate problems in the field.
- Maintain a properly trained work force to ensure that procedures and safety rules are followed and compliance to ALARA resulting in minimal radiation exposure to employees.
- May plan, prepare and revise power plant work packages as needed.
- Routinely perform as contract administrator, including reviewing the approving invoices and processing payment.
- Supervise primarily represented personnel and/or activities during outage and non-outage times to meet established scheduled and objectives in compliance with regulatory requirements.
Posting Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent GED
- Five years of experience in the craft or discipline supervised.
- Associate degree or higher preferred
- Must be willing to work overtime, shift work and accept call-outs as required.
- Must be able to pass all phases of In-Processing including a background investigation, psychological screening, appropriate training, and be medically certifiable drug and alcohol screen.
- Make decisions systematically, can make decisions under pressure, build a consensus, and can make difficult/unpopular decisions, while considering impact of decisions.
- Must be cognizant of all plant safety procedures and regulations.
- Exhibit confidence in self and others; inspire and motivates others to perform well; effectively influence actions and opinions of others; accept feedback from others; and give appropriate recognition to others.
- Communicate well both verbally and in writing, create accurate and punctual reports, deliver presentations, share information and ideas with others, has good listening skills.
- Must meet regulatory and training requirements per Fermi procedures.
