Description
SUMMARY Reporting to the Vice President of VP, Commercial & Military Sales, responsible for the development and delivery of safe and efficient military and commercial customer flight training, maintenance training, and weapons systems training.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
  • Responsible for the planning, organizing, directing, and controlling of flight training, maintenance training, and weapons training.
  • Leads the administrative, personnel and logistics activities of the organization to include year over year planning and strategy.
  • Manages the development, production, and quality control of all MDHI training publications and curriculum.
  • Responsible for the quality assurance of the training academy operations and programs.
  • Oversee and direct the quality of flight, maintenance, and weapons training processes and procedures. Coordinate with the Aviation Safety Officer on quality assurance.
  • Report and investigate all Flight Academy aircraft, ground safety, and environmental accidents to determine the cause of the accident and formulate recommendations to prevent similar mishaps in the future.
  • Collects and addresses lessons learned from customer feedback and end-of-course evaluations. Acts as the focal point for lessons learned. Responsible for annual reviews of training standards to ensure product remains relevant.
  • Demonstrates continuous effort to maintain the highest standard of safety, training, and professionalism.
  • Improves operations, decreases cycle time, and streamlines work processes.
  • Works cooperatively and jointly to provide quality customer training service.
  • Conducts monthly formal standardization councils with Instructor pilots to address current trends and updates to standards publications.
  • Coordinate training schedules with Flight Operations organizations.
  • Work in conjunction with business development and aftermarket services to develop sales proposals.
  • Reviews and approves all flight, maintenance and weapons training lesson plans and briefings.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manages employees based on organizational goals and company policy for the company.
  • Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the flight and maintenance training services.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Qualifications
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Excellent written, verbal, communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to present information in a clear and concise manner.
  • The ability to get along with others or to be part of a team.
  • Ability to lead a team.
  • Familiar with closed loop quality system and auditing processes.
  • Access to Export Control Information.
  • Regular attendance at the worksite.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s Degree and at least 10 years of experience as an aviation instructor in rotorcraft. More than 5 or more years leadership experience delivering aviation training either in a branch of the military and/or to commercial customers.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Airline Transport Pilot’s (ATP) Rotorcraft, Helicopter preferred, and/or Certified Flight Instructor, Instrument (CFII) Pilot’s license required.
