Laitram Machinery, a division of Laitram, LLC, is looking for a technical, energetic and self-reliant Field Service Technician to service and manage its Latin America accounts. This is a key role assuming

Responsibilities
  • Assist our commercial team in selling of the Companys food processing equipment and services
  • Plan, manage and perform mechanical and electrical assembly, installation and commissioning of equipment
  • Lead mechanical and electrical subcontractors engaged by Laitram Machinery
  • Train customers to operate, maintain and optimize equipment performance
  • Plan and perform trials to optimize equipment performance and demonstrate value
  • Provide warranty support by diagnosing failures, ordering parts and affecting repairs and replacements
  • Provide insightful technical feedback to the Companys Engineering and R&D departments to improve equipment performance and value
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years experience as a mechanical or electrical technician or equivalent experience
  • Ability to understand and work from mechanical and electrical drawings, schematic reading a plus
  • Ability to independently install, troubleshoot and repair mechanical/electrical equipment and control systems
  • Ability to read and understand manufacturers drawings and manuals to self-teach new technology
  • Proficiency with PLC software and hardware, adeptness with Unity Pro S and Vijeo-Frame Designer applications a plus
  • Strong electro-mechanical skills (electrical panels, motors, drives and networks), experience with SCADA a plus
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with high level of attention to detail
  • Effective communication (verbal and written) and relationship skills
  • Proficient with Excel and Word
  • Positive, confident outlook with an entrepreneurial, problem-solving personality
  • Fluent in written and spoken English and Spanish
  • Ability to travel extensively (50-70%) both domestically and internationally and work weekends, holidays and overtime when required, with some trips lasting up to 2-3 weeks
  • Able to perform all essential job requirements identified in the Functional Job Description for this position, including the ability to safely lift up to 75 lbs., climb ladders, work in tight spaces, and stand, kneel and squat on a repetitive basis.
  • Valid drivers license and good driving record

  • Technical degree (electrical/mechanical/automation)
  • Experience with the installation and programming of Yaskawa Drives
  • Experience with food processing equipment
