The role has four primary responsibilities:
  • Obtain permits
  • Schedule and execute inspections
  • Perform post-sales drawings (floor plans, conduit plans, etc.)
  • Oversee Kastle Sub-contractor relations (this includes managing/tracking costs and pricing, negotiating fees, sourcing new subcontractors, etc.).
This role will interact with the Project Managers and Kastle Sub-contractors to negotiate pricing, coordinate scheduling and ensure successful installations. This individual will also interact with Project Managers, Kastle’s Master Electrician and local jurisdictions to obtain permits and execute subsequent inspections when required.

  • Communicate and coordinate with the Project Managers to understand the permit and inspection requirements and priorities.
  • Prepare permit packages and obtain permits from the local jurisdictions using on-line tools to maximize productivity.
  • Use CAD or other drawings tools to prepare required permit packages. Skilled use of CAD and Bluebeam is a requirement.
  • Review scopes of work provided by sales and obtain the necessary floor plans and other necessary documentation required to apply for permits.
  • If necessary, contact local jurisdictions to clarify discrepancies.
  • Track permits and inspections and communicate the Project Managers of status using computer tools such as spreadsheets and CRM.
  • Attend weekly scheduling meetings to report status of permits. 2. Schedule and execute inspections
  • Execute necessary inspections to meet the priorities and deadlines.
  • Assist Project Managers schedule inspections with the local jurisdictions and notify customers to “post” the site for the inspection.
  • Create rapport and maintain a positive relationship with local inspectors
  • Perform post-sales drawings (floor plans, conduit plans, etc.)
  • Assist project managers by providing post sales documentation such as conduit specifications, product documentation, equipment layouts and other customer facing system submittals.
  • Review and understand statement of works provided by sales and communicate with the project managers to understand submittal requirements.
  • Develop knowledge Kastle product line to understand wiring, conduit, wall space and power requirements and translate this knowledge into submittal packages.
  • Use CAD or other drawings tools to prepare required drawing packages.
  • Do site walks to inspect conduits and other customer provided items and help Project Manager report/document any deficiencies to customer.
  • Oversee Kastle Sub-contractor relations
  • Review and understand scope of work for projects provided by sales and communicate with the project managers to understand priorities.
  • Sit in contract turnover meetings to understand project requirements.
  • Meet with Installation Manager to decide which projects need to be assigned sub-contractors. Then, select the appropriate sub-contractor for a project based on current workload and skillset required for the project
  • Accordingly, negotiate pricing with Kastle sub-contractors, and any subsequent change orders.
  • Provide support and oversight for projects being performed by sub-contractors to ensure systems are installed properly, on budget and on time in accordance with Kastle’s procedures and quality control standards.
  • Communicate with sub-contractors on a regular basis to understand workload, obtain status of projects, and to ensure the sub-contractors are submitting inventory reports and sending invoices.
  • 2 or more years successful experience installing access control, video systems or other related electronic systems
  • Technical school certificate a plus but not required
  • Work history must display stability and consistent attendance.
  • Demonstrated ability to accept responsibility and carry out assigned tasks with limited supervision and have a keen understanding of customer priorities.
  • Ability and knowledge to use computer and effectively use Microsoft Office Applications, including Excel, Word and Outlook and other Kastle internal tools to facilitate business processes and communications.
  • Skilled use and knowledge of CAD, Bluebeam and other drawing software is a requirement
  • Ability to read and interpret construction documents and wiring diagrams.
  • Ability to perform detailed work, being careful about detail and being thorough in completing tasks
  • Demonstrated self-composure, adaptability, persistence, a high tolerance for stress and unquestionable integrity.
  • Ability to write and maintain accurate daily records.
  • Ability to interface and communicate with customers and co-workers in a clear and professional manner.
  • Neat, professional appearance.
  • Available to work overtime, weeknights, and/or weekends.
  • Ability to travel frequently by automobile or public transportation, including overnight stays
