Beverage Manager

Beverage Managers have an exciting role at Tuck Room, as they are responsible for Guest Experience, People Development, Systems and Consistency across each area of restaurant, bar and kitchen operations. This position will be responsible for ordering liquor, beer and wine for the property, while maintaining existing and developing new relationships with vendors.

 

Key Accountabilities:

  • Work with Restaurant General Manager to support an environment committed to outstanding Guest Experiences; run pre-shift meetings to maintain guest focus at all times.  
  • Build and maintain a supportive team environment with strong collaboration focused on guest experiences and genuine hospitality; oversee guest relations, resolve guest issues, and recognize staff for outstanding service delivery.
  • Coordinate with Bar and Restaurant Staff to ensure quality expectations are met in beverage preparation and presentation; focus on motivating bartenders to prepare menu items in consistent manner. 
  • Participate in hiring hourly restaurant bar staff; provide ongoing, hands-on training, mentoring and coaching for staff.
  • Maximize revenue and increase average-spend per person through up-selling, high guest service standards, effective training and motivational techniques.
  • Work with site’s Sr. General Manager to ensure proper beverage training sessions and tastings are conducted quarterly.
  • Responsible for maintaining inventory, organization of all beverage areas, achieving budgeted goals for beverage cost of goods sold.

 

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree Preferred, preferably in Business Administration or Hospitality Management.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a similar position with a high volume property; strong focus on a beverage program, hospitality, and brand management.  
  • In-depth passionate knowledge of wines, spirits, cocktails and other drink ingredients.
  • Track record of success with bias for action, high energy level and desire to succeed. 
  • Solid judgment, decision making, problem solving and conflict resolution skills with guests.
  • Qualified to manage multiple priorities to achieve expected outcomes at the site level, while maintaining focus on guest’s events wants and needs.  
  • Maintain set goals for beverage cost of goods sold.

  • Demonstrated judgment, decision making, and conflict resolution skills with guests, staff, and peers. 
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, solid executive presence, self-confidence, and professional maturity.
  • Good listener, patient in stressful situations and genuine in desire to resolve issues.
  • Staff retention and development: minimizing turnover through solid hiring and engagement activities; internal promotions and cross-training.
  • Solid follow-through on problems and issues; solutions that address root causes; recommendations that can be broadly implemented across Restaurant.
