Job Description
With a growing segment like premium coffee and a fast paced environment, the Retail Merchandiser is essential to the illy caffe North America National and Regional Retail Account team. This position is primarily responsible for maintaining and growing account presence and merchandising services.
The position requires a flexible, assertive individual who can communicate sales programs clearly to Purchasing Managers. The Merchandiser is self-motivated, eager, and willing to execute against sales promotions set by the Regional Retail Sales Manager.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Merchandise National Retail and Regional retail accounts to illycaffe standards established by Management
- Present the illy brand in a professional manner to the account base and communicate our brand story
- Communicate Account trends to Management
- Maintain inventory levels to include suggested orders where applicable to account staff
- Submit account trackers accurately and return them in a timely fashion to management
- Assist in account tastings/samplings where applicable
- Support events for assigned area as necessary
- Utilize a proactive approach to surveying accounts for opportunities
- Multi-task in the account environment
- Communicate with store-level key decision makers on behalf of the brand
- Alleviateout of stocks by keeping accurate tabs on store inventory as well as maintaining displays
- Present display concepts according to National Retail programming calendar or as directed from Management
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Associate's Degree
- This person should be able to communicate clearly and respectfully to the accounts they call on with a positive up-beat perspective
- Ability to work 20-25 hours/week (hours may vary based on time of year)
- Ideal candidate able to travel within designated territory
- Experience in merchandising (preferably in the retail/grocery channels)
