Department Shift Supervisor - 2nd & 3rd Shift openings
Production Supervisor
​2 positions open 1 on 2nd and 1 on 3rd shift
Location:  Skokie, IL
Pay Rate: $55k - $65k
Duration of Job: Permanent

SUMMARY

Responsible for Supervising and directing all day to day shift activities within Departments #41 that are producing Ready To Eat along with further processing needed products for public consumption. Shift Supervisor is to be a leader of a Continuous Improvement philosophy within the Department, and also embracing Lean culture principles and applying when appropriate. Department includes up to 50 multi-cultural non-union employees operating in a 24/7 operation. Coordinates the production of goods which includes the production of Malt Ball, Coffee Beans, fruit and nuts, and other various sized confection items. Ensures machines are properly repaired and running efficiently to standard and maintains focused motivated work force.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Reports food safety and quality problems to personnel with the authority to initiate action.
  • Create daily staffing requirements per standards of scheduled production and communicate
  • Compliance to plant production schedule meeting required compliance to schedule standards
  • Review and validate all direct employees payroll reports in timely manner
  • Own department inventory accuracy and compliance
  • RAF reporting in a consistent and timely manner maintaining a sense of urgency
    • Error forms for material
    • Machine time verification prior to data entry
  • Provide proper documentation and validate employee work documents
  • Provide, assist and validate employee training and its effectiveness
  • Take active role in safety, promote and encourage safety practices
    • Ability to conduct a root cause analysis on incident/accident
  • Time management: provide efficient use of time for self and subordinates
  • Provide to HR all required documents
    • Change of status
    • Progressive disciplinary documentation
    • Training conducted or needed
    • Attendance disciplinary documentation
  • Maintain proper material usages and investigate any discrepancies.
  • Provide support to other departments to achieve Co. directives
  • Maintain the highest GMP's within all areas of responsibility to maintain and audit ready facility
  • Investigate concerns as they take place, implement corrective actions and audit areas to ensure overall effectiveness



KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma
  • 3-5 years experience in manufacturing environment
  • Coach/Train Employees
  • Active member within Safety Committee
  • Active role within Co. special projects
  • Delegate Responsibilities
  • Detail Oriented and results driven
  • Ability to Develop S.M.A.R.T. Goals
  • High level of communication
  • Bilingual (Spanish is a plus)
  • High level of accountability for employees
  • Measure efficiency, downtime and material consumption
  • Above average computer skills
  • Excellent Documentation
  • Facilitate Meetings amongst subordinates and peers
  • Ability to adapt to shifts as needed

  • Continued education: 20 hours annual training internal or external courses
