Job Description

Maintenance Group Leader / Maintenance Supervisor
Location: Ottawa, IL
Pay Rate: $50,000/ year plus overtime at straight time over 40 hours
Duration of Job: Direct -
off shift covering 2nd and/or 3rd to split the coverage with the 1st shift Group Lead

Main Function:
Ensure the maintenance goals are met in accordance with quality and safety goals. Oversee, lead and develop a highly experienced skilled workforce within a Union environment that will provide and maintain continuous productivity with cost reduction in mind.
Main Responsibilities:
o Supervise daily activities of the department.
o Schedule maintenance team members to meet the demands of the business.
o Insures that maintenance work order targets are met on a consistent basis
o Resolution of issues (service, quality, costs).
o Recommends modifications to equipment.
o Manage and oversee administrative functions to ensure that all paperwork is processed
efficiently and in a timely manner and meets all compliance requirements.
o Assure safety related activities i.e. safety talks, through accident investigation, good
housekeeping are maintained and followed continuously.
o Monitors and controls environmental impact in relationship to all design and maintenance of
facility and production equipment.
o Possess skill and knowledge to coach, mentor, train, all Maintenance Department associates in order to
develop a highly experienced skilled workforce.
o Champions teamwork spirit

Required:

  • Associates Degree or equivalent work experience
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and multitask
  • Must be good communicator
  • Four (4) years industry experience
  • Knowledge of A.C. and D.C. motors and controls, 480 VAC
  • Knowledge of Hydraulics, and Pneumatics
  • Proficient in Excel; intermediate PowerPoint skills
  • 6S / lean manufacturing knowledge


Preferred:

  • Automotive/rubber industry supplier or industrial experience
  • Exposure with a union environment
