Job Description

This position is responsible for analyzing, editing, placing, and managing purchase orders, and, ensuring delivery with international suppliers of automotive aftermarket products.  The idea candidate will possess a willingness to learn, a positive attitude, and an adaptability to change.   This fast-paced environment requires tenacious follow-ups, juggling of multiple deadlines and tasks, plus, the desire to positively impact an already successful company. 

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Using the company’s replenishment management software to process orders and follow up open purchase orders on a daily basis
  •  Monitor PO statuses to ensure suppliers ship within the required service time and order fill levels.
  • Follow the defined replenishment strategy e.g. order frequency, management of backorders, etc. aimed at achieving the highest order fill percentage with the lowest possible inventory
  •  Work with suppliers to hold them accountable on fill rate, lead-time. late deliveries, or pricing/shipping errors
  • Research and investigate out of stock SKUs and implement corrective action
  • Provide Merchandising group the feedback of cost, MOQ or order fill rate issues to resource items if necessary
  • Work with suppliers, distribution centers, accounting department to resolve receiving discrepancies and request for credits if needed
  • Work with suppliers, forwarders, and custom brokers on containers shipping arrangements

QualificationS / Requirements:

Technical Knowledge/ Skills:

  • Solid understanding of principles of inventory management and replenishment process 
  • Understanding of how to manage replenishment with international suppliers
  • Intermediate understanding of the various types of replenishment software
  • Bilingual English-Mandarin preferred

Other required skills:

  •  Creating and maintaining positive work environment for team members
  •  Automotive aftermarket or retail experience is a big plus
  •  Intermediate ability to identify inconsistencies in data and perform validation
  •   Experience in developing inventory models

 Education / Experience:

Minimum:

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent work experience
  • 2+ years relevant work experience in inventory management/replenishment in an automotive or retail hard goods environment

Ideal:

  • 4-6 years relevant work experience in similar or related field, understanding of basic statistics

Skills:

  •  Intermediate interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills.
  •  Flexible attitude
  •  High level of skill in Excel and/or Access
  •  In-depth knowledge of warehouse management systems and inventory management a plus
  •  Self motivation and a determination to succeed
  •  Innovative ideas followed by clear planning & implementation
  •  Can manage to deadlines
  •  Detail management - provide detail analysis of item performance
