Job Description

Product Department Administrator Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent, plus some college required and/or 3-5 years of high-end administrative experience in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and using the Internet
  • Strong proofreading ability and thorough when performing tasks
  • Proficient typing skills (45 wpm minimum with no errors)
  • Understand product to properly label face and direction of material
  • Ability to understand custom forms and specification sheets
  • Must be able to handle stress, work effectively with others, multitask, and be well-organized
  • Display reasoning ability and independent judgement
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Superb interpersonal skills

Product Department Administrator Job Duties

  • Help process orders
  • Organize incoming mill samples and handle quality issues with mill
  • Aid in process of evaluating mill discrepancies
  • Reads and routes all incoming mail, prepares routine correspondence, and files correspondence and other records
  • Answer telephone and give information to callers or routes call to appropriate official
  • Places outgoing calls and make copies of correspondence or other printed materials
  • Orders and maintains supplies, and arranges for equipment maintenance for all of product department
  • Complete special projects either assigned or approved by Vice President of Product Development
  • Provide other department assistance as required
  • Maintain and update printouts in binders for department
  • Must be able to walk between company buildings as needed
  • Use materials and equipment efficiently
  • Follow departmental and corporate policies
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Product Department Administrator Job Duties (cont.)

  • Work with customers and vendors in an administrative capacity
  • Send labeled, identified samples to mills and customers
  • Make standard files for all new fabrics / trims
  • Name, number, and label fabrics/trims in book rotations
  • Hang sales analysis on wall

*Typing, 10-key, data entry, Word 2007, and Excel 2007 testing is required for consideration*
