Job Purpose:

The repair technician repairs faulty circuit boards by replacing failed components. Rework of circuit boards is accomplished with hand tools such as soldering irons along with semi-automated machines. This position plays a key role in supporting a fast-paced environment to ensure

The repair technician repairs faulty circuit boards by replacing failed components. Rework of circuit boards is accomplished with hand tools such as soldering irons along with semi-automated machines. This position plays a key role in supporting a fast-paced environment to ensure a quick turnaround.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform bench level troubleshooting of faulty circuit boards using tools provided by Circuit Board Medics
  • Replace components by soldering
  • Disassemble and reassemble housings and other small parts
  • Bead blast housings and other parts
  • Document new repair procedures
  • Miscellaneous duties as needed Qualifications Required qualifications include:
  • No prior electronics troubleshooting experience is required. Circuit Board Medics will offer training on electronics repair and soldering technique.
  • Fast learner - Since no prior electronics repair experience is required, there is a steep learning curve that must be overcome quickly for success.
  • Detail oriented - Circuit boards are complex systems that require all parts to be within specification in order for the entire circuit board to perform properly.

  • Superior dexterity - Bench level repairs involve working with very small parts, and good soldering technique also requires a high level of manual dexterity.

Desired qualifications include:

  • 4-year degree
  • Automotive troubleshooting experience
  • Appliance troubleshooting experience

Working Environment:

Circuit Board Medics was founded on a 1-day turnaround for standard repairs. This nurtures a fast-paced environment that requires a strong sense of urgency. The typical workday is 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM with a break for lunch. The daily responsibility of the repair team is to ensure that all repairs are completed which means staying after 4:00 PM some days until all packages are ready to ship.

Physical Requirements:

The components that the repair technician are working with are very small, so good vision and superior dexterity are required. Vision aids such as glasses or contacts are permitted. The repair technician is required to wear protective safety glasses, so if eye glasses are required to achieve 20/20 vision, then the repair technician will be required to provide safety approved glasses (ANSI Z87+) at his/her expense. Clear, non-corrective safety glasses are provided by Circuit Board Medics. The repair technician should be able to lift 50 lbs.
