General Store Clerk - Full-time / Part-time

The Role:

The Store Clerk works as part of the General Store team keeping the store clean & stocked while ringing up sales & assisting guests.

Responsibilities:

The incumbent is responsible for:

· Cleaning and stocking the store

· Monitoring & interpreting inventory levels to assist with ordering

· Operating a POS accurately

· Serving guests

· Opening and closing duties

· Organization & inventory of all products

· Work special events

· Corresponding with gusts for special orders, special events, deliveries & parties

· Delivering groceries to campgrounds, casas & boats

· Taking orders via phone/email

· Break down boxes, use compactor & clean back of house

· Ice production & inventory

· Inputting/coding invoices, using purchase ordering system

· Filing, organizing paperwork

· Serve ice cream

· Work with other employees in all responsibilities listed

· Warmly/personably serve guests & correctly manage any conflicts

· Work together with other departments

· Keeping work environment clean, safe & equipment well maintained

· Participate in employee relations, safety & training programs

· Operate POS accurately & business related computer programs

· Key holder

· Exceptional customer service

· Cash drops, change & banks

Minimum Qualifications:

· Previous customer service experience in retail &/or grocery

· Ability to follow directions

· Excellent customer skills and be able to efficiently coordinate functions and provide an exceptional guest experience

· Attention to detail and be well organized

· Must possess basic mathematical skills in order to add, subtract, divide, multiply and calculate discounts or percentages

· Must possess exceptional customer service skills in order to provide an exceptional guest experience

· Business centric knowledge of computer programs & automated point of sale

· Motivated to complete projects in a timely manner

· Ability to follow directions & delegate to others as needed

· Organized with an attention to detail

· Valid driver’s license, with insurable driving record

· Minimum of 18 years of age

Education and/or Experience:

· Experience in Retail/Grocery

· High School/GED diploma

Language Skills:

· Ability to effectively communicate via phone, email, with customers, and the general public.

· Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to effectively respond to questions from managers, clients, customers and the general public. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Physical Requirements:

· Must be able to stand &/or sit for extended periods of time

· Must be able to reach with hands and arms

· Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, stretch, push and pull on a regular basis.

· Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

· Visual acuity and ability to hear to clearly communicate to managers, coworkers and guests
