Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:

Directs the activities of the Blow Mold department in an efficient manner for the desired quality and quantity of work. Reports to the Blow Mold Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide the planned production cases to support customers through the production plan

  • Ensure planned KPI’s of Efficiency and Performance are met or exceeded

  • Develop and track improvement in reduction of planned and unplanned downtime hours

  • Manage the adherence to prescribed procedures to ensure the first time quality meets or exceeds planned goals

  • Ensure prescribed department preventive maintenance activities are completed timely

  • Ensure complete compliance to prescribed GMP’s and 5S processes

  • Track competencies of direct reports and provide leadership and development

  • Provide leadership in TPM process and activities

  • Oversee new hire and training processes on shift

  • Experience and knowledge of plastics including injection molding processes and blow molding processes

  • Assures efficient and economical utilization of materials, improvement of methods, and elimination of wasteful practices within the department

  • Experience with Sterling / Milacron/ Hartig equipment preferred

  • Experience in continuous improvement programs such TPM, or Lean Manufacturing

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High school graduate or equivalent with additional college-level courses in engineering and management subjects desirable
  • Five to eight years of directly related experience, with at least three years' experience as a supervisor

  • Bi-lingual English/ Spanish a plus but not required
