Bike Mechanic - Full-time / Part-time

Overview of Position:

Hubway is seeking an experienced Bike Mechanic to help with all aspects of bicycle assembly, maintenance, and repair. Training on technical and unique aspects of Bike Share bikes will be provided. You’ll be a part of a team that focuses on exceeding the highest standards for service for metro-Boston’s bicycle transportation system.

Key Aspects of Position:

• Complete repairs in a professional and timely manner.

• Ensure that all necessary reporting is accurate, complete and timely.

• Reliably report for work as assigned.

• Work under the guidance of the Head Bike Mechanic

• Respond to requests from your manager(s).

• Assist in maintaining an OSHA compliant workplace.

• Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Two years minimum experience in professional bicycle repair experience preferred.

• High school diploma or the equivalent.

• Excellent organizational skills.

• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

• Passion for bikes, efficiency and sustainability.

• Proven technical and mechanical aptitude and innovation.

• Adaptability – enthusiastically adapt to changes in the work environment.

• Dependability – Follow instructions; respond to management direction; communicate frequently; solicit feedback to improve performance.

• Interpersonal skills – maintain confidentiality; remain open to others’ ideas; demonstrate patience and willingness to try new things.

• This position may require frequent or prolonged standing, sitting, bending, stooping, and/or lifting up to 45 pounds.
