Job Description

Basic Functions:  Provide customer service for point of sale transactions and technical support for various installation materials.

 

Qualifications:

·        Good PC skills

·        Ability to work under pressure

·        Excellent phone etiquette

·        Excellent communication and customer service skills

·        High school diploma or G.E.D.

·        Good problem solving skills

·        Product knowledge of installation supplies

·        Knowledge of installation techniques

·        Interact with public

 

Performance Expectations:  Greet all customers in a friendly manner and respond promptly to customers’ requests; answer and/ or research customers’ technical questions; answer phone in a timely manner and take orders; keep all store displays properly stocked; ensure that all monthly specials are in highlighted areas; promote “frequent buyer” program. Must be capable of writing and/ or processing a minimum of 8 orders per hour.

 

Specific Responsibilities:

·        Actively sell and promote Cronin product.

·        Answer customer phone calls in a courteous and professional manner.

·        Take order over the phone, by fax, or by e-mail and process in a timely manner.

·        Write and fill point of sale orders for customers.

·        Provide customer with accurate product and stock information.

·        Resolve customer problems and questions quickly; help troubleshoot any shipping or order problems.

·        Research, write and process customer returns accurately.

·        Write and process Direct and Special purchase orders to vendors, with purchasers’ approval.

·        Act as back up for will call counter.

·        Maintain adequate stock levels in the store

·        Keep store clean.

·        Pull and fill counter customers’ orders.

·        Relay information about “specials” to customers.

·        Maintain communication with other departments and co-workers.

·        Cross train within the company.

·        Maintain and keeps orders filed daily

·        Prepare and complete cycle counts accurately.

·        Perform all other duties as requested.

·        Serve as a technical advisor to inside and outside sales personnel.

 

Professional Development:  Stay up to date on new products by attending product information seminars. Attend installation seminars. Cross train with other employees to help during slow periods, vacations or sick outs. Read trade information to stay abreast of product development.
