Job Description

The Assistant Manager of Facilities Maintenance supports the Manager of Facilities Maintenanceto provide leadership in the daily operations of the Repairs & Maintenance team, and assists with the coordination and supervision of all upkeep, maintenance, and repair functions for the resort. They are required to maintain the highest quality of staff through effective recruiting, hiring, retention, coaching, succession planning and training. They assist in the development of the operating and reserve budgets and the adherence to them. They oversee the purchasing and inventory function and, in the absence of the Manager of Facilities Maintenance, the management of service contracts for facilities maintenance, pool maintenance and service from all required outside contractors. They are responsible for ensuring safety and security as required by the company and local, State, and Federal jurisdictions. Additional responsibilities include coaching and counseling, issuance of corrective actions, on-going mentoring and process improvement, regular communication of resort news and department information. This individual will ensure that the maintenance team exhibits Stay Real behaviors and skills to provide the highest hospitality standards and customer satisfaction through observation, communication and recognition.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

•Must maintain comprehensive knowledge of resort policies, procedures, and operations and ensure communication of relevant information, as required.

•Minimum of 3-5 years of maintenance experience, preferably in the timeshare industry.

•Must have two plus years of management experience.

•Must possess a sincere dedication to provide an unsurpassed level of owner and guest satisfaction.

•Must demonstrate a commitment to the continuous development of his/her team.

•Must have a high degree of judgment.

•Must have the ability to work independently and with little to no supervision.

•Must have demonstrated exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

•Must have the ability to anticipate, prevent, and solve problems; manage people, projects, time, and quality; motivate and lead staff with diverse skill levels; multi-task; and set priorities.

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

•High School Diploma and/or equivalent

•Individual must have a minimum of four years of experience in the vacation ownership industry or comparable experience in Maintenance, Custodial, Housekeeping, or Support Services. Individuals must also be able to demonstrate leadership and interpersonal skills.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

•Any hotel/resort/management/industry or trade certifications would be a plus
